Cable Price Surety

Cable Price Surety (ECS CaPS)

What is CaPS?

CaPS gives customers the ability to fix cable unit pricing years in advance by using a hedging process to lock copper or aluminum, the most volatile component of cable cost. It delivers transparent, fixed pricing while still allowing changes in schedule, cable types, and job destination as the project evolves. It is not a speculation or profit center for ECS, it is a risk management tool designed to stabilize metal pricing and protect project budgets.

CaPS locks in fixed unit prices of cable over multi-year projects to stabilize metal exposure. It can support pricing for deliveries more than 5+ years into the future when required.

CaPS is designed to stay flexible, allowing customers to adjust schedules, modify the BOM, and shift metal pounds across projects as plans change. If metal pounds remain unused, they can be reallocated to another project.

By stabilizing metal exposure first, CaPS gives engineering breathing room to finalize circuits, reel lengths, and pull plans after pricing risk is controlled.
